A good way to get Trypticon?

Hey everyone,

I need some advice...I was thinking about getting the Korean version of Trypticon for $100, BNIB.

Does anyone know much about him?

-how closely does he represent the Takara version?
-is this a fair price?
-or do we think there's going to be an Encore of him soon?

Here's the Ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Transformers-Beas...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks in advance!

Re: A good way to get Trypticon?

$100 is a little much for Gigastorm, I've seen him go lower. He's missing a few things from the original. It will be tough finding a complete Trypticon but you can easily find parts for him. Use these sites to compare:

http://tfu.info/1986/Decepticon/Trypticon/trypticon.htm

http://tfu.info/1998/Destron/Gigastorm/gigastorm.htm

Looks like Gigastorm is missing a bunch of accessories that Trypticon had.

Thanks for the comparisons! Very helpful. I think I'm going to see who next few Encores are before I make the plunge...he's not quite what I thought he was.

Much appreciated.

Since they will redo Metroplex this year and the fact that they may still have the mold from the Gigastorm run ~8 years ago the chance of an Encore Trypticon is pretty good IMHO.

This is my line of thought as well. It seems Takara/Tomy has a thing for the base bots... so be patient.

I hope they will be successful with Omega Supreme next month and Metroplex later on... or else they may cross that "thing" out from their budget. I have my finger cross for a Trypticon (and Japanese Fort. Max. hey Takara-Tomy bring it on!)

Re: A good way to get Trypticon?

He can be had for about $60-$80. I was going to buy him once, but with all the missing ramps and accessories, not to mention the tacky looking green paint all over him, it was an easy pass. I wouldn't be surprised if Trypticon showed up in the Encore line at some point.

So, everyone needs to buy at least two then to boost sales... right?
