Re: Canadian Shipping is as bad as the TTC, canadapost eat it.

If there is such a guarantee seems it's the shipper who could get the money back, not the receiver...

Re: Canadian Shipping is as bad as the TTC, canadapost eat it.

I had a package yesterday come in.
During the day it had said
"Item out for delivery"

When I got home it said
"Item successfuly delivered"

I check my mail, look outside my house, nothing! So I go to the post office, and sure enough it's there. Delivery sucessful my ass... No delivery notice card, nothing! I had thought it was dropped on my doorstep and then stolen.

And thats another thing. They leave your packages on your doorstep sometimes! And they have the nerve to call such a procedure "Safedrop" WTF IS SAFE ABOUT IT? I never once have given my permission for you to leave it on my front step!
Oh, and FedEx, if you ever drop a package in my back yard again, I am filing charges for trespassing. (not that they will read this, it's just my ranting, lol)

If I am not home, I want a notification to pick it up at the post office. I hate Canada Post! >_<

LOL @ Mumps. I hear you about the "Safedrop". I would rather take a trip up to the post office to pick it up rather than have it sit in the rain or snow. Thanks for nothing posty.

I have heard about the refund on Xpresspost (I overheard a postal worker telling someone else about it when in line once). I do believe it is the sender who has to file the claim, even if you paid for the shipping.

The worst I had with the tracking number was way back when I ordered something from Amazon.ca. The tracking number said it had been delivered, the post office couldn't find it, and Canada Post's "help line" told me the sender had to contact them to deal with it. Luckily Amazon.ca just sent me out another order. However, right after the new order arrived... the old one showed up by some form of magic.

Hey, they did that safedrop thing to my order from Automation Toys. They "safedropped" a SkyLynx and Encore 01 Optimus Prime inside the storm door. Of course the box is so big the door was propped open. That is not safe at all! :-o

Weird?!? They did the same thing to me. I, on the other hand have a enclosed area before the main door, so no snow or rain issues. But the theft issue does worry me. Although I have never had a package go missing yet. But still.

To clarify, a mandatory signature costs another $1 I believe. You can see that checkbox when calculating a rate.

If it's not checked (cheaper), there's nothing wrong with the mailman dropping it off there.

Whenever they "Safedrop" my packages, and it's always expensive ones (re-issue Predaking was the CHEAPEST thing they have ever safedropped)
And, whenever they safedrop, they just leave it on the front step, anybody walking by the house can see the big box sitting there!

Canada Post is going to get a long winded rant about every issue I have ever had with them when I get home.

Re: Canadian Shipping is as bad as the TTC, canadapost eat it.

Canada Post usually treats me alright- it's Canada Customs that often screws me over. But this month? Holy crap stuff is coming in slow. HLJ packages that usually take 10 days are taking over 15, and I've apparently had something from the states instantly leave customs then spend the last 3 days sitting in Ontario for "processing".

US Customs is the worst. I sold a guy an item on E-Bay and its been stuck in customs since the 14th!! Its a GD toy. No bombs or drugs, just a toy. He's freakn on me and nothing can be done, even though I paid for Expedited Service!! Grrrr!!!!

Re: Canadian Shipping is as bad as the TTC, canadapost eat it.

When I lived in Quebec I would get the infamous card with no attempt of delivery thing. Honestly though I haven't had too many if any issues with CanadaPost for a wile now. Being in Toronto every package I've received has been about a week with no customs charges. Been in Calgary for the past month and change and had some stuff shipped here and even those were less then a week with no duty. On the other hand though my brother typically waits 2-3 weeks on average from anything in the US to arrive.

But ya personally I cant think of the last time I had a real postal grip, heck even a package I shipped to Chicago just before Christmas, BY SURFACE MAIL, took 3 days whole to arrive which blew my mind.
