Re: Transformers 30th Anniversary memory

I remember getting my first Transformers (BW Ironhide, Prowl, Silverbolt) and wondering why they didn't appear in the Beast Wars cartoon.

Then I suppose it landslided from there xD.

I just started Animated this week, I like it so far. I want to see more Decepticons and Autobots soon tho, and less of the human "villains".

I really liked the use of G1 cartoon footage in episode 1.

Re: Transformers 30th Anniversary memory

I remember being in love with Go-Bots and then some kid on the playground shows me Windcharger and tells me that Go-Bots ride in the head. I was thoroughly confused and when I went to my local K-Mart I saw plenty of Transformers and did not recognize any of the packaging normally associated with Go-Bots. From there, I was all about finding out more about these Transformers and their much more serious tone than the Go-Bots.
I was hooked from what I found out. My first Transformer was Blaster and its been a slippery slope since. More so now since my man cave has been renovated.

Re: Transformers 30th Anniversary memory

Gobots = parents choice for transforming toys

The cheaper "alternative".

I had more of those growing up.

The earliest robot mistaken or alternatively bought by my dad was daitarn 3. I had no clue who that robot was. He looked expensive at the the time though. it had multiple alt modes. I loved that toy to bits.

This a hundred times. Oh, and Beast Wars/Beasties rocked.

Speaking of TFs, Sideswipe was my first TF which I got from... you guessed right, Consumers Distributing back in '84 (fellow Transfan from Montreal ). Still have a original G1 Grapple (NOT a re-issue) which I bought from Otakuthon '12 (missing his left fist and instructions)

Oh, and:

(bought it as a 30th birthday present in '08)

Re: Transformers 30th Anniversary memory

I grew up resenting Tom and Jerry super hard because they came on before Transformers and I didn't want to wait... still to this day, I'm really not into T&J
