The cards and associated rewards are still valid until the card expires.

They arnt renewing cards anymore or selling new ones.

There's a new reward system coming, but nobody knows what that is yet. That's the info I got from my friends who work at my local store.

Yeah I feel bad for anyone whose Onyx card expires in the next month or two.

My bonecrusher came in at gamestop called me yesterday.

They'll probably go with the same type of program they have in the US. The Gamestop Pro program. So it will be a bit more robust in what it offers members, but it won't have the specific percentage deals we currently have.


Of course this is Canada, and if there is one thing I am used to is the Canadian branch of a US company doesn't offer the same deals/benefits as the US branch. So whatever they do it will still, most likely, be lesser than what the US gets.

That GameStop Pro is already significantly worse than Platinum. The total $65 off is nice, in theory, but is a pittance compared to what Onyx discount can get. And when GameStop's prices are inching higher and higher, you'll need that measly 5% discount just to get back to MSRP.

We're about to get royally screwed.

This sucks! My edge expired just recently. Now when my preorder for Magmatron comes in I?ll have to pay full price for him. GameStop is going to lose some of my business if they can?t offer a competitive discount anymore.

My Onyx renewed in August so sounds like I wiuld be fine for awhile then. Going to miss the discount as I pay 15% in taxes.

Might be the deathblow to Gamestop in Canada if they screw this up.

Welp seems like it's a good time as any to cut back and possibly stop collecting all together.

Already started here. From the Unity stuff so far I only have Windblade, Tigerhawk and maybe Tasmanian Kid for nostalga (I had the OG Snarl as a kid as well as Tigerhawk).

Then got Concept Megatron.

Silverbolt is a must. I only have Hallow's Eve left for Marvel Legends right now. I am passing on anything bigger then a leader.

I can skip Reactivate. Gamer Edition and Beast Wars characters will probably keep me going though.
