Correct, the wing tips on the huge shoulder things are useless in any of the alt modes, and attach to the tank treads (for some reason).
I just watched the video again to confirm, they are actually facing backwards in jet mode, if you leave them sticking out.
And having watched the transformation again of this figure, most of the alt mode is attached to the back with that one swivelling post. I wonder if you can detach the backpack and make an alt mode and robot separately.
Such a lazy designed toy.

KFC Ditka is still the one that looks the most like the G1 Blitzwing we know and love in all 3 modes despite his back heaviness.

It's CA$53.25 as it is now, so cheaper than this Legacy one.

But this to say that Hasbro could have done a LOT better.

Well Legacy Blitzwing looks good to me, they got a lot right but missed on a few things, imo.
I have TR BW though and he works just fine for my collection. I don’t see any value in replacing him with the new BW.
