TF's in China

So I'm recently married and we're making a trip to China for some wedding banquets. We'll be in Shanghai and Beijing for the most part with a side trip to Xian.

I'm just curious if there are any well known shops in either Beijing or Shanghai that will cater to my plastic crack addiction? I'm hoping there is considering that most of them are made there hehehe

On this link it shows 3 locations for the shop in Shanghai. You can find a friend or a Taxi to get you there.

The owner for this "Choice Toy", Mr Wu, from I read in Chinese forums, he is like a "big boss" figure controlling lots of Chinese transformer businesses. For example people blames him for making the MP13 Soundwave's price went up a lot 2 years ago.

Don't worry, his store is also famous for quality goods and good reputation. His stuff might be a little expense than others, but u will have good services, like exchange, inspection etc. At least that's what I read.

ya i went to that shop too last year, and like xueyue2 he's the main guy in shanghai in terms of transformers toy distribution

it is also rumored that the guy is behind some of the transformers asia exclusives

prices aren't cheap but not bad especially for 3rd party figures (mind you, the store doesnt carry every single 3rd party brand). most of the official hasbro stuff in china arent priced as cheap compared to US pricing.

of the 3 locations, i have been to only 2 of them. be sure to visit the main/flagship store ONLY as the toys in other 2 locations are actually priced higher.

but that place is abit hard to find, mind you. and the place feels a bit shady as its a semi-deserted underground one-floor plaza but there are other toy shops in the plaza too so be sure to visit the other shops for stuff this one doesnt carry. but this is from one year ago and they have moved so YMMV

u should be more concerned about having enough cash, as china is a cash society


just buy an empty luggage in shanghai if u need the extra room: cost around 20-30 bucks

Good call. I'm curious, do they generally have a lot of the newer stuff in stock? Or do they sell it and that's it?

hard to say, but their taobao site is pretty updated in terms of inventory/what they offer
