Looks like I'm going to have to visit the local comic book shop.

I just previewed the first page cause I want to be surprised by any major plot twists, from what I saw I am quite excited about this series.

I love the robot designs. More detailed and mechanical than G1, but still with clearly defined shapes and faces capable of expression, unlike the "hastily welded together junk pile" look of the movies.
I need a toy version of that Rodimus. Now!

Re: 3 Preview Posted of Transformers Ongoing Issue #1
Glad to see there's one forum where people actually enjoy the designs...TFW has the typical hate thing going on.
I'm really digging these new designs too. I like both G1 and movie, but the movie style doesn't translate very well to comics on its own. This takes enough from both sides to look good, IMO. And as much as I hate to see it happen to that particular character (won't name them for spoilers' sake), kudos to Mike Costa making such a gutsy move early on, especially if they keep it as is.

I've gotta admit I've been a little disapointed by the lack of focus of IDW's G1 story line. I miss the Furman verse greatly and really fell off the wagon with All Hail Megatron.
We'll see how this one goes. I feel a bit like we're rebooting every year at this point.

Re: 3 Preview Posted of Transformers Ongoing Issue #1
I have to say that I'm not a fan of Dons new style. The thing that I really don't like is the new way he draws the faces. I prefer the G1 style over the movie style of faces. I hope he goes back to his old style, although he has gotten better at drawing humans. I'll give the new series a try, but if i don't like the art of the book, I find it to much of a deterrent for me to enjoy the story.
why is it so cool for people to move on or distance themselves from G1 lately?
