You also have to think long term. This might work once, but when everyone returns their stuff, how much slower will it make them restock next time, because they begin to take that into account?
IMHO--and very much speculation by me--part of the reason places like TRU is starting to be a lot more stingy on stock was a few years ago, people were buying up the wall of Bumblebees when they went on sale at greatly reduced prices.
When the new stock came in, people would go back to the store and exchange those Bumblebees for the new stock, because the TRU systems treated them all as the same item, and get the new figures at sale prices.
The cycle went on and we end up with something like this everywhere.
There is no free lunch. There's a cost to everything. In the end, what did that wall show stores? That hey don't order as much TF stuff because we keep ending up with crowded shelves.
