Anyone have any ideas?

Future Floor Polish is always a safe bet to try. Takes a few coats sometimes to get the desired level of friction. ... I usually leave it for around 24hrs to sit.

Haven't tried it on a G1 bot before but have had lots of success with Studio Series, PotP & Siege ones as well as a few Marvel Legends figures.

I bought a donor bot (a long time ago) that had better legs than my G1 one and swapped the best parts over. When you open the panels on the calf part of the legs, inside they have a weird angle to the leg part, which causes the short-bot syndrome.

Would furniture polish fix that?

^ Sorry I'm not sure. I never used it. Really comes down to: it's 35 year old plastic compared to current gen plastic.

I tend to use floor polish when I can't open said part to get at the insides because it's more fluid and will flow in the joint. But if It comes apart I use clear nail polish. It's thicker and it sets faster.

Re: G1 Sandstorm: How to fix loose legs in bot mode?

Had this problem back in g1 days...I just cut a piece of thin plastic and inserted it in legs to tighten them
Up ....no glue and can be removed no damage or altering original pieces

So I opened Sanstorms legs, and I can see the problem. And it will happen to anyone who uses it over time.
There is a little plastic nodule at the end of his.. yellow shin, hidden within his plastic calf's that when sliding down into bot mode, slides into a little groove in the shin part that locks it into place.

What happens is over time, the notch wears down.

Pictures to follow...

Any idea how to fix this?

From that pic you could build up the little orange "nodule" as you called it. But even if you used something like superglue, it would slightly wear-down with every transformation...
