Re: commissioning pricing

At $50 you'll probably make less then minimum wage considering it takes more then 5 hours to do any full repaint.

Some do it for fun you know. Money isn't always an issue.

Oh really? Then why do I got a collection of 25-30 customs, repaints, and touch ups if I'm not doing it for fun?

Re: commissioning pricing

Aww, one should never undersell themselves...

Honestly though if you want to charge for a commission I say go for an hourly rate + materials, unless you don't really care and just want enough for materials and a little something extra.

At 1st I thought you wrote 'Money isn't Everything', to which I would respond with the G1 episode
'Money is Everything'.

It would have really been funny, you know.

I agree with you GM; never under-sell yourself when it comes to commissions and ignore those self-righteous ignorant folks who expect you to give them next-to-free labour since you should 'love' doing it, lol...

Re: commissioning pricing

price it fairly but competitive. Look at some stuff on ebay, watch what price they sell at, you might get a better grasp of what to expect.

Some people request commissions from me and see the quote and think I am joking... others see the quote and order 3-4 more because it's cheaper than they though.

Consider what you are doing is a skilled labor. Majority of skilled labor jobs pay anywhere from $15 - $100 per hour.
