I've been in the physical stores a few times in the past month, but didn't notice it at the store level. It's only $2 increase, but still quite unpleasant.
Someone mentioned this up thread somewhere but yeah, they raised the prices on Micromasters, Studio Series Leader class (to match Walmart's $74.99), and some Cyberverse classes too.

Kingdom looks to have a $3 hike on deluxes, and who knows after that.

Hasbro has to show shareholders increased profit every quarter in a world where toy sales fall year after year. This is only going to get worse until it hits a breaking point.

With the MSRP continuing to increase they start to price out the non collectors. Majority of the my kids friends have zero interest in TF's.

In the toy aisles I rarely see kids looking at Tf's compared to the other toy lines. I would say the average amount a parent would spend on a gift when they attend a bday party is around the $20-30 range, that doesn't even get you a main line deluxe now. Sure it buys a deluxe size cyberverse but those look cheap in comparison.

Transformers don't sell... but they do.

Even with TFs selling well, the line will face these price hikes to make up for shortfalls in other lines and areas.

This is the problem with the idea that increases in profits should be continuous. Catering to shareholders over good business is not a sustainable practice. Hooray, late-stage capitalism!

100% agree!

The Transformers brand is strong, but there won't be much revenue growth on these toys if Hasbro only depends on folks like us on this board.

They totally need those non-collectors to at least consider purchasing, but not when a Kingdom Deluxe class Paleotrex is going to be almost $40 with taxes in.

Yup, even though you were honest, the review may hurt their bottom-line. I remember giving a very honest/blunt review of a transaction with Walmart a couple years ago & basically got a similar response back.
