Re: Earthrise appreciation thread

First ER Datsun mode to be acquired was Smokescreen and then Bluestreak appears from EB a day later. Man they knocked it out of the park on the basic transformation. But there is something off with the doors.

One weird thing is Bluestreak has updated instructions about tabbing the arms into the car door, but somehow lost his tech specs and E-20 Number printed on the cover. Oops.

Re: Earthrise appreciation thread

Bought Optimus during a 20% off at Toysrus. Would pay full price though. Still best non master piece prime in a while. Like G1 but you know, pose able. Have him and the cell shaded Megatron. They look classic together. No regrets.

That is how I felt too when I started about 5 years ago while wandering Toys R Us looking for a birthday present and saw the Combiner Wars line.

"Woah, these look like the G1 cartoons, but way better!"

Quite happy with the current line, recently opened up Wheeljack and the build quality is amazing.

Re: Earthrise appreciation thread

Picked up a Starscream recently. Never had the deluxe classics mold so it was neat seeing this iteration of the thing. Some of the tolerances on my copy are a bit on the stiffer end (the arm transformation for jet mode unsettles me) and I worry about the red paint on the chest-to-shoulder tabbing connection wearing off over time, but he's a significantly less spicy meatball than MP-52 (?) would be.

Waiting for Netflix Bumblebee and Soundwave. Fingers crossed for Frenzy/Ratbat and Rumble to get reissues somehow.

Doublecrosser, following Soundbarrier in the "just planking again" or "oh is that a shield" Olympics.

Re: Earthrise appreciation thread

Hoist was the only Earthrise Figure I've bought so far. Except for a floppy elbow, he's quite nice.
I'm very tempted to buy Trailbreaker.
I have both these characters from the Thrilling 30 line, and paid a premium for them, because I couldn't find them at retail, I think I got them at TFCon. I knew when I bought them, they were lackluster. This new model is nice.
