Classic's Thrust to Dirge and Skywarp to Thundercracker

Ok, next here is Thrust to Dirge, trying to match the Classics colors as best I can, as well as doing yet another repaint of Skywarp/Thundercracker here--This time going with a much darker blue that I've tried before--again trying to match colors as best I can. Should be done by weeks end. I painted Thundercrackers chest with that awesome chrome finish paint, but it takes a longgggggggggg time to dry so that you can handle it without smudging the reflective chrome look.

Re: Classic's Thrust to Dirge and Skywarp to Thundercracker

I'm working on finishing the classic seekers myself using the obvious SS for Thundercracker (done). Ramjet for Dirge (95% done) and Thrust (40% done). Of course Thrust will not have his VTOL wings but I did the colour in photoshop and it looks cool anyways. I'd be done by now if school didn't keep getting in the way but as it is I've been putting painting off for 2 months :P. Now all I need to do if find a loose classic skywarp to finish the set...

Thanks Jay. Yeah, this is a decent way to go if you didn't want to spend the 300+ $ for the set. But, I did spend it, and so now at least I can attempt to make them for others so they don't have to.

Looks super! I'm still trying to find an affordable classics Starscream to do Thundercracker as well. Your stuff looks like works of art, excellent job.
I think my next project is a classics Chromedome . I've done all decepticons so far, and I think I've improved with each go, still no where near your awesomeness though . Keep up the good work!

Re: Classic's Thrust to Dirge and Skywarp to Thundercracker

Well, time for another update--the Seekers are done!
Here are some pics with their over priced counterparts..

So, I finally tried doing Thundercracker as a darker blue then what I've previously used..But since they botcon figures are actually two different tones of blue, I went that way too..I'd like to have found a shade lighter of blue, but, this is what Krylon has. And for the first time I've tried adding the sticker/decals on it..Granted, the botcon ones are patined, but, this time I've tried using very thin electrical tape for the detail..And it kinda works I think. With time and practice, hopefully it gets better..More accurate etc.
Not time to finish painting Alt Steeljaw..

Looking good there Sami! I like your Drige better than the Botcon one actually. The Thundercracker looks good too.

Yeah, it had that aspect to it at least. I'm still on the look out for the perfect Thundercracker spray paint. But I think I like the darker tone than the lighter one I've been doing him in.
