Mixing and matching is a good idea. 3rd party deceptions that are bigger with Hasbro Autobots which are shorter.

I would mix and match but I am very picky though.. It's almost like an OCD kinda thing. At first I was gonna pass on CW Superion and Bruticus because I have RoTF Superion with the FP Aerial Appendage Kit and RoTF Bruticus with FP Munitioner & Explorer kit..(Didnt get FP Menasor and Maketoys Green Giant because it was too expensive.) But soon realized those two didnt look so good with the CW combiners due to different aesthetics as it would look weird in my CHUG collection.. so I ended up getting most of the CW combiners. Same thing applies with TR and FP Fx series.. Hope that made some kind of sense.. If I wasnt so OCD and picky about it I would not have this dilemma in the first place.

At the end I am just gonna wait for FP Hardhead to get release.

I have most of the fp heafmasterd but i hsve toyworlf hardbone for that character and just bought tr highbrow instead òf fp browning cuz it looks better. You can store his guns barrel down in his hoĺlow lehs. They stick in there pretty well.

I use hardbound in my masterpiece display.

There's nothing to be torn about. The Function X toys look are total shit. Their worst sin being that they don't even look like the characters they're aping. While Titans Return figures look like the characters they're supposed to be. Blowing those garbage FP toys out of the water.

My Maketoys Chromedome and Hardhead display nicely with TR Fort Max.

Kinda having the same dilemma. The FP' version of Brainstorm looks wicked in its own right, and the transformation is awesome. The TR version also looks good, but would ultimately look more cohesive with his TR brethren. FP' sculpts just dont have that same vibe as the TR, never mind the scale differences. That's my problem right there in deciding since currently all I'm missing atm is Brainstorm.

I say just save your money and go with the titan returns headmasters. I had most of the f(x) line but sold them once the later releases started really declining in quality. FP has really gone down hill, they used to have the best most creative engineering for transformations so it felt like they were worth the money for such small figures. Now they are barely better than what hasbro releases and almost triple the cost.

The first three f(x) were amazing, totally worth the cost. Sigma was alright, not as good as the first three but I could slightly justify the cost. From function X-5 onward they are just overpriced garbage.

Here's hoping f(x) apeface is alright, as its the only one I can't replace with a hasbro one.
