Re: What do you think Warpath's repaint is or is Warpath the repaint??

Although we know its Hardhead, bedtime is obviously correct in that it doesn't work in bot mode. Not so much his treadfeet as a concern but the blatantly inaccurate chest turret. It would require a remold of some sort, maybe rolling the turret to the side, which would then allow a spring loaded head to pop up.

I will get this when it comes out but its unfortunate its a straight repaint with head remold. Then again they took a mold like Tracks and made it into WJ (or vice versa) quite successfully, maybe they can work magic again.

Really just want Hasbro to create actual classics headmasters/tm's. We had that glimmer of hope when Cyclonus got Nightstick.

Hey Gary. Do you think Warpath was put out before because he is a more acknowledge G1 character... zowwwie.
Since they will be revisiting the Generations line in the upcoming future I bet we will see multiple repaints of this mold. I am hoping that a 3rd party developer gets involved to bring out a Hardhead edition. That would be awesome. I unfortunately can't count on H/T to make anything cool these days that appeal to the avid collector in me.
If Takara MPM makes a 458 Italia it will restore my faith in them...

The IDW Hardhead is the universe Ultra Hardhead. I just don't see "Hardhead" in the Warpath mold, it's a great mold but I just don't see it. How aboot a tankbot that they have not made yet, like Quake , Impactor (like Igear), Hardspark, Gobots Tank or Defendor, Destron Megastorm or even G2 Purple Megatron.

There's also the posibility that it's all planned. Niether is the original. Just like the Tracks/Wheeljack or Sideswipe/Sunstreaker mold it was all planned from the beginning, one mold two characters. I get the feeling this trend is going to continue where they look for two or more characters that can be filled out by one mold and design with that in mind.

The mold looks much closer to Warpath. The treads are on the feet and lower arms, not on the legs, upper and lower arms. There's also the chest turret, definitely made for Warpath. As for the alt mode, it does look a lot like Hardhead, but it's not the first time Warpath is an H-Tank. It may have been planned from the start, but I would still say that Hardhead is the repaint.

I think Warpath was the primary focus when they were making the mold.

Hardhead was the theory.

One slightly more complex design = multiple configurations for repaints that will actually sell

Makes financial sense!

I agree that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker may have been designed and made at the same time but in an interview with the Japanese designers Wheeljack was actually designed first and then Hasbro asked if the legs could be turned around and that's how Tracks was made and then he got released first, lol. It's in WTF@TFW episode 155 in the new pic pics section. I think I remember hearing as well the same thing for Drift and Blurr that Blurr was the initial design and Drift was the repaint, I'll have to look into that one though.

I'd be down for that.
