Re: Is MP Rodimus Prime REALLY that expensive?
For me, it's worth the price. I want that trailer. I will be thrilled if they announce Galvatron as the next masterpiece. They would display well together on a Detolf shelf just like MP Prime and Megatron!

Personally, I think hes worth the $200 price tag. However, I will wait for the Hasbro version and get two. I wouldnt be shocked if someone made a trailer for him just like they did for MP Optimus Prime.

after seeing the pics that were released today, if i get him, it will be the japanese version, since half the space winnebago front end is a shell on the trailer, and i wouldn't count on the trailer being made, since they are releasing it with him in japan, that wouldn't be a big seller, prime didn't have one when the trailers were made for him

Re: Is MP Rodimus Prime REALLY that expensive?
but would it be reasonable that you get the Rodimus from Hasbro, and get the protector armor for its trailer ?
so you don't "have to" buy both ?

his paint job looks cheaper than the rest of the MP line but a good representation of the G1 toys from that season. unlike MP04 he shouldn't have the same diecast count and he's smaller. not even in scale with MP prime. in comparison with MP04, its like my days of watching transformers season 3 all over again. its somewhat nostalgic in a less appealing way.
no the price is not justified especially since the MP line have almost completely abandoned the diecast content and a cheaper looking paint application.

Re: Is MP Rodimus Prime REALLY that expensive?
I'm with TJ on this. I dont agree with the price but... the quality of these figures is great and the trailer is a big thing for me so, I pay.
I figure the price will drop some-what after the first release but only time will tell....

I'm personal torn. I really want the trailer as it seems silly to not have it on the Hasbro Release, but if Grimlock is any indication, the actual toy will be way cheaper if it gets US release...

Re: Is MP Rodimus Prime REALLY that expensive?
I'd like the Japanese release, but I don't see there being a lot of diecast on this. Also, while I love the trailer and I would display it as a Winnebago, I think the Hot Rod released by Hasbro will be more economical. I just can't blow that much on a toy 2/3 the size of the MP Prime.

Also remember that you're paying to have him brought over from Japan, and shipping costs have increased since MP Megatron came out.

Re: Is MP Rodimus Prime REALLY that expensive?
I think the price is justified where it is, based on where it is coming from. I'm still torn myself, as we know there is a release planned for our side of the pond and more than likely he will only be displayed in robot mode when on the shelf... so why does the trailer really matter?
On the other hand, how can you have Rodimus Prime without the trailer?
Decisions, decisions.
