Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

i have a meager collection as it is, and not much of it is actual g1, although usually if i'm buying a toy, its of a character that has a tie to the g1 cartoons... save for some animated toys and maybe breacher.

had a large one, now i'm slowly rebuilding it, still have 50 or 60 i think, a lot of them in need of repair and in a drawer. but they are my favorite set of characters and the toys are fun

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

When i first discovered eBay in 2004/ 2005 i was spending lots of money (about $2500-3000 CAD) on G1 figures (the exchange rate was horrible back then so I lost a lot of money because of the exchange rate) but now rarely...unless the figures are extremely affordable

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

yes,i have almost all of g1 north america, except for certain ones like mail away cookie crisp jazz.
now i've moved onto the more expensive side of g1 collecting, the japanese and european exclusives.
90% of the time,if you see me buy a g1 bot, chances are that it has something in slightly better condition than one i already have.(stickers/joints/etc)

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

Too expensive and bricky like so much of you have already said. I've been waiting for a line like Classics to show up for a long time and now that it's here, I'm making that my "G1 surrogate," and buying every character that has appeared in the old cartoon. That's my rationale for skipping all the G1 toys I've come across and resisting the urge when the reissues first started to hit shelves a few years back.

G1 and G1 reissue toys are my favorite. Most of my collection is made up of these.

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

I have SDCC reissue Blaster, a Trypticon, Springer, and a pretender shell among some Classics and Alternators. Share the shelf with the continuity. Also the Micromaster Constructicons are there.

I generally won't go out of my way to buy a G1 toy or reissue or whatever, but if there's a convention I'm going to, I'm gonna try to get the exclusive.

And that Predaking seems really awesome.

I don't have any G1 figures, just those inspired by G1 figures like Masterpiece, Generations, Classics and reissues.

^ Same. The only reason I started collecting is the G1 series but now my collection has expanded to the MP and classic figures as well.

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

My G1 collection:

- KO Devastator
- 25th anniversary Prime
- Soundwave tru exclusive
- Blaster tru exclusive
- commemorative sideswipe
- perceptor tru exclusive

hardly a collection. As a kid I hardly had a collection as well, I had beachcomber, triple changer jet fighter/battleship (don't know the name.) I always wanted sideswipe as a kid but never really had the chance to get one. Back then I thought Joes were cooler than tfs and were more expensive to buy.

Like most, I hardly play with the g1 toys I have cause they're bricks. not as fun but since I missed out on most the toys, I somewhat want them.
