Lego G1 Megatron

This is BWTMT's design, but I've made some modifications to stabilize the arms in gun mode and to have the gun tip fold perfectly flat and straight up against the back, something the original design couldn't do.

I need to fix some of the gaps. His design is a good start, but there's still room for improvement.

Fusion cannon can light up btw.

To make the gun tip fold flat, I had to add a Kre-O hinge on one side to move the upper portion out of the way when transformed (that section used to bump against the spine, putting the gun tip at an angle).

This makes me want to steal grey and black bricks off my son's LEGO Death Star.

Bravo!

Very nice design from BWTNT, and good mods Pascal...eager to see where this goes! How did you source the bricks?

Re: Lego G1 Megatron

How much did you end up spending on buying bricks?
Did you buy the bricks through bricklink?
I would of order the whole kit from BWTMT if it's half the price.

Most of those parts look like they are common pieces, most of them anyway. I probably have a couple sets worth of those pieces in bins in my basement.

He got them for me, which probably ended up costing me a lot more than ordering them myself! Still, that set has more than 700 bricks, so it would still be fairly expensive, even at retail...

Re: Lego G1 Megatron

Hated how the robot head was in plain sight in gun mode, so I reworked the back of the lower the legs and the spine to push the head inside. It worked! Also reworked the hip panels to better cover up the sides all the way to the back. That also improves the robot mode by making the upper leg look thicker and more armored.
