I need some help...

Hey people! I am just posting because I have a problem. A piece of my Gundam broke off. It is like a hinge or joint piece that broke. The area is really small and I've tried cheap glue but its just not working. So does anyone know if like crazy glue works for this situation. I'm just need some help because I'm trying to a fix a small piece which is hard to fix but that joint is actually a big part of the Gundam. Thanks in advance.

Re: I need some help...

you can try super glue. It should work, but the only issue I see is if the joint is those slightly rubber ones. those are a little harder. you might need to make your own.

Would you be able to post a pic?

Re: I need some help...

drill a small hole where the join has broke. (on both side of the break) then insert a thing small wire through the holes. then use a little bit of super glue to hold everything in place.

This method is used for WH40K game models.

if the break is rubber, then you need cement instead of glue. or epoxi

if it's a peg, use what Chisau said, but use a small screw instead of a wire. it will hold better.

The green outline is where that broken piece is supposed to be. Ya that hinge is small.

This is how the hinge looks if it was fixed.

The hinge connects like that.

This Gundam is called Heavy Arms Custom scale:1/100

I know that one. um.... it's a tricky situation. You may need to remake the part. From what I can see, super glue can work, but a lot of stress on the part will cause it to snap again. I suggest you buy some epoxy, or a really strong super glue and try putting it back together with that, and if it doesn't work, you may end up needing to make the piece yourself.

Re: I need some help...

Try putting a layer of epoxy or some kind of rubber cement over the entire hinge, and then repainting it.

Its a shame, heavyarms custom is getting harder to find these days.

Re: I need some help...

you can use the method i mention before. but for something of that size, you will need a really small drill and drill bit as well as really small wires and be very careful.

or do as dak says, use epoxy and rebuild the hinge from scratch and repaint over it. but when using epoxy, make sure you are careful. because they dry very slowly. even the "quick drying" ones. if you use too much at one time, they will leak into areas where you don't want the epoxy.
