Re: Boxed or loose signed stuff

Sealed, for sure. The signature itself would display as intended when it's been written on a consistently even surface. Writing on the bumpy surface of a figure just ends up mangling the signature and looks more like grafiti afterwards. Plus, if the figure is still going to be played with, you'll risk rubbing or scratching that signature off due to all that wear and tear over time.

Boxed. As many have said, it displays nice.

Also, Chigmus makes a great point about actors having to sign on the bumpy surfaces and it looking bad after. I've seen a number of loose signed toys where the autograph just looks mangled and indecipherable.

Nothing would make you feel worse than spending all that money and coming away with a bled together scribble.

As for the question, for smaller items having a boxed version signed would make sense due to physical space available on the figure for a signature. Larger toys there would be additional space available for a signature if desired. IMO a boxed display piece with a signature would be ideal where possible.
Cost me 50 bucks to get a
Sig of Peter Cullin from last years con
I was ok with the faded Sig
It was just a sticker no toy involved although I have a ko prime complete the I am debating using the sticker cause it doesn't match the ko sticker
