Am I making a mistake not getting the new MP Prime?

I've been debating this with myself for some time now. Aside from it being another Prime instead of a new character, the price is what pushed me away the most. That said I never did get any of the MP Trailers either and the fact that this MP Prime is shorter bothers me too.
That all aside, I keep wondering, is it a bad idea to not get this figure. I have a fairly large Prime collection as it is so it almost doesn't make sense to not have the new fig.
Automaton no longer has pre-orders and I wont from BigBad so just wondering what my options might be should someone still have a pre-order up.

Any thoughts on this?

i am going to get the US release or whatever. i dont have any other MP primes, so why not start here i say.

I think its worth getting.
Its such an iconic toy.

The debate I have is to get the super expensive Takara import, or to wait for the dummied down Hasbro version. I'd like to get the trailer and roller to complete the look but my heart bleeds at the import's price tag.

If you don't have an MP, you should get at least one.

If you had one, it would be a more difficult question.

Edit: Noticed you have no trailers, but probably an MP Prime...

Hmm...well that's more difficult, but I'd say go for it, for the trailer.

I'd consider this if you didn't already own a Masterpiece Convoy/Optimus yet. It sounds like you do but want the trailer in which case I'd try to find an aftermarket trailer. +$200 for a smaller Prime with little or no diecast seems wrong.

Just get over the fact that it's another MP Convoy and get it for what it is: a great modern rendition of the G1 character.

While I'd love to have it for the trailer, the $200+ price tag is just insane IMO. I just can't justify spending that much on any one toy. I go the route of the US releases. If Hasbro can give us the same general figure with the trailer I'll go as high as $125, but if not, then it'll just be a pass. If it's just the figure and no trailer, then maybe I'll grab it if a sale puts it under $60. It's awesome looking, no doubts there, but my finances just can't handle the price tag.

Anyway, good luck with the decision.

I have it pre-ordered. However I am a bit sour on the price, which could be cut by cutting out the trailer. Cause for me, the trailer is only going to be a VERY expensive shelf riser. Like my other 2 MP Prime trailers

I never got MP-01 or the 20th anniversary one. (to think that I was the minimum wage stock boy working at Best Buy back in 2005 who put them out on sales floor myself, but then I was in a TF black hole and the minimum wage at PT hours could barely buy me food).

Anyways. I agree it would be a good start for those who don't have the first MP Optimus. I personally never bought a Takara Tomy MP because of the price and in stead go for the watered down Hasbro MP Starscream, Grimlock, and Rodimus. Hopefully this will get a Hasbro repack san trailer too.

But what I really what is a new MP Megatron!!!
