Binaltech Chevy Cruze....What?

So I was searching Ebay and found this. Binaltech Style Chevy Cruze

Does anyone know what this is? Promo Item? K.O.? Strange concept that got leaked? All I have found is a Forum that mentions it and a retailer that has it.
Here (sorry if it is slow)
and an Ebay auction for it Here
There is a past auction Here that shows the box.

I have emailed the seller to try and get more info and I will post once it is up to date, but as A BT/ALT fanatic this thing is driving me around the bend
Any info would be awesome.

I'm leaning toward KO. Might be a custom.

Re: Binaltech Chevy Cruze....What?

I'd say 99% chance that it's a case similar to the igear seekers where somone took a pre-existing mold (ie silverstreak), remolded parts of it (the good and the doors look fairly unchanged) and then they or someone else took it, molded it, made a custom box, and made numerous copies.

The alternator line was actually fairly customization friendly I think, so it's not much of a stretch. You just take an existing figure, chop off the unusable bits, then buy a scale model of the car you want and start cutting and pasting. For it to look really good there is a lot more work of course, but that would get you the basic design and do it fairly well since 1:24 scale models are easy to find. I've done something similar converting a windcharger to a bmw z3, and it turned out alright despite never reshelling anything before.

Well if it is a KO,which I assume it is, then it is a damn good one.
The paint alone looks really pro. The head is not the standard recolored Smokescreen heads. The logo's look really Chevy official.
I was wondering if it was some internal Corporate thing that was done for GM. Like Swerve is.

China Chevrolet Auto Co. ltd inside gift, very rare!

Could be a non-licensed exclusive, who knows. It's China after all.

Swerve came in a bag with only his instructions and was an entirely new mold. What raises an eyebrow here is the head is from a previous mold, and that box with a red bumblebee on it screams fishy...my guess it's an over the top knock off.

Re: Binaltech Chevy Cruze....What?

Interesting. I'd almost say it might even be a GM china promotional item, as they did do a TF3 edition Cruze there, but in Bumblebee colours as they couldn't sell the Camaro there. But then why not in the actual TF3 edition colours then? Which is why I'd say it's likely "unofficial". Wouldn't mind having it, but it is definitely a bit pricey.
