Prices on Shelflife

Anyone here use shelflife to buy and sell? I've noticed the prices there seem to be out to lunch with a lot of the TFs. Seems like everyone is trying to get rich of fairly easy to aquire toys.

What do the rest of you think?

So far, I'm inclined to agree. Not as steep as some local dealers, but pretty bad.

Re: Prices on Shelflife

I wish I could figure out how to make their emails go away

Must be a linky or something to press. I didn't put anything on their with the notion of selling it, now I keep getting emails with offers from their automated service.

Re: Prices on Shelflife

It's no different than anywhere else. Even here, I put up a price, someone decides to negotiate what they consider a "fair" price and I tell them "no" so then they get mad and I block them. Too many stories of douches on a few different sites, including this one.
No matter where you go, people will haggle for the best deal possible. I have storage space, I can wait.
2 things I hate about selling online:
1: I keep my pricing as fair as possible, especially on loose figures. I don't mind negotiating so long as it benefits us both.
2: Being told how much they are paying for shipping. No consideration that it may cost more depending on how many figures they are interested in or location and distance.
I had a few people offer me Photron from another thread I posted, still considering it, but if I go with someone I expect to pay the proper costs for shipping. Shipping should be at the buyers expense. You either agree with the price, or you don't.

Shelflife is no different. At the end of the day, people want to pay nothing for something they really want. I'm not saying scalp them, but sometimes expecting to pay 5.00 for a mib 20.00 figure is insane.

Re: Prices on Shelflife

This is the main reason I closed my account, I care not to sell my collection. I also felt like I was getting spammed with those super lowballed offers for my stuff.

No need to close your account, you could just turn those notification e-mail off.
P.S. I want all your TFs for $1 shipped each lol.

A lot of those ridiculous pricing offers seem to be people adding as much to their wants as possible to get points for the monthly contests for free figures. Someone made the argument that they technically want to own every Transformer so there's nothing wrong with putting EVERYTHING as a want... but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't invest the time to do that if the chance of winning something as a result wasn't a factor.

I love Shelflife though... Great site, doing great things..
