Green Giant or Hercules?

Ok, so after watching Peaugh's review on Green Giant, I'm seriously entertaining the idea of selling off my Hercules to get him.

I love the way GG looks, in all forms. Individually, vehicle and combined mode.

While Hercules is nice and all. After seeing Greeny, (and yellow version thanks to Slave's review) he looks, well blah.

I've heard different things about quality, but they pretty much all say Hercules is better, and that if he fell off a shelf, no damage. I just want to point out that, that Head joint, if he fell on his head, wouldn't hold to that solid statement. Anyway, aside from the obivious quality difference, I keep him ground on the floor.

So, Anyone hear have both GREEN! Giant and Hercules to compare? I state green in capitals because GG has a lot of issues fixed. Im currently re-read Slave's review for the overall picture.

I should be able to let you know tomorrow... I think Crobot91 has both in hand right now, he would be able to tell you.

Re: Green Giant or Hercules?

When pictures first surfaced, I had to choose between the two of them. I didn't feel the need to have both on my shelves. Overall, the esthetics of Hercules looked better to me. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but Herc just called to me.

Seeing Giant now does not make me regret the purchase at all. Now, I am not saying that Giant is a crap figure... that would be furthest from the truth.

It just was not the Devastator for me.

Herc gets my (biased) vote.

I really don't see you going wrong in either case though.

this is true, if you're getting uranus, you will be stuck with a smaller devastator, personally, if i was into rid, i'd get giant to match that aesthetic. but since i'm into classics and g1, i want a devastator to match

Re: Green Giant or Hercules?

To me, even though their engineering is generally great (save for the poorly integrated combiner hands in alt mode), the TFC Constructicons are too blocky and undetailed compared to the Maketoys Constructicons. Aesthetically, I prefer Green Giant over Hercules.

Re: Green Giant or Hercules?

I'm in the same boat here. At TFcon, I was waffling back and forth between Hercules and Green Giant. Hercules was $550 and Giant was $400 there. I think if either were $50 or so cheaper I would have snatch one of them up. But I ended up not picking up either.

So I'm stuck yet again. I'll either wait for one of them to go on sale, which I don't see happening in the near future. Or I'll wait till an interesting repaint like that SG Hercules that was teased a while back.

BTW, Cpl. Chrissandwich, if you do decide to sell your Hercules, LMK. I may be interested.
