47 of them for sale, estimated 400+ sold, average price now around $200.

This is nuts.

Also, Hasbro is stupid for not selling these themselves on the web. Part of it's demand/exclusivity, but it seems clear there's a lot of people who want this and will drop serious cash on it.

I don't dispute that.

By the time this is posted, there will probably be 500 SDCC Bruticus sets that have been sold on eBay for an average price of $200.

That's just eBay.

Demand will probably continue to be strong for awhile.

I have to wonder what percentage of the SDCC Bruticus sets as a whole went to people who had any intention of keeping them for themselves or their friends.

It's also interesting to wonder which would have ultimately profited Hasbro more -- releasing the FOC colors as the exclusive, or the G2 colors? I'd say that "demand is high" for the FOC colors is a bit of an understatement.

I'll eventually get all 4 versions (if you count the wreckers/Ruination). My SDCC version is still on it's way here. I really hope that the retail versions will be relatively easy to collect all 5, barring any scalpers from hoarding cases of them in the first month.

I'm personally going to be going for Ruination... I've got the FP Bruticus, and the g2 version really doesn't appeal to me.

People will be going nuts once Takara announces their G1 accurate version (and it WILL happen, guys, sooner or later). I wonder how he'd look in Technobot colours, though...
