Custom animated Shockwave hand blaster

I picked up the purple shockwave for a great price at zellers. He is a great figure, but I'm not a big fan of the cannon that he comes with. I decided to create a hand cannon that is closer to his G1 counterpart.
Here are some pics of the cannon I am working on right now in robot and his new alt mode, a Galvatron like cannon.

I made it out of a broken engraving tool, a television av cable, the nozzle was a hand blaster from a vr 2 gijoe bats and some vinal scraps.

inside the blaster i glued a peg to fit in the hole on shockwaves arm to secure it, also one of his claws fits inside to hold it into position.

Re: Custom animated Shockwave hand blaster

part 2

I added a cut up av cable that is removable from the blaster. It plugs into a socket I molded to the blaster and it fits into the hole in his back via a small plug I made from a cut up old set of headphones.

Re: Custom animated Shockwave hand blaster

part 3

I made sure to have a long enough cable to allow for maximum mobility. The cannon adds very little weight to the figure so there is still a fair amount of balance with the figure...much more balanced than with the cannon that came with shockwave.

Re: Custom animated Shockwave hand blaster

part 4

In cannon mode the blaster slides over the rear helmet piece and plugs into the hole in his back.

I thought about painting it, changing the colour of the nozzle but I think it has a more animated feel with the orange.

I decided not to include the original cannon he came with for his alt mode. Instead I decided to give him an homage to Galvatron
(since we never got the galvatron we wanted with the universe wave)

there is still a little fine tuning that is needed to finish the cannon, smoothing out some areas and perhaps some paint apps may be in order.
