Yah, it certainly does.

Since BotCon tries to double-dip their retools' worths, I figured there'll be some different Soundwave figure using the same molded head.

When I first heard about this year's theme, I thought, "Machine Wars? Really?" But I decided that perhaps I'll reserve judgement until I see what the figures look like. Now that I've seen Hoist, I have ZERO interest in the entire theme. I can't imagine that when Botcon attendees fill out those surveys, they check off "Machine Wars" as something they want to see as a future offering. My disappointment with TFCC never ends. Ah well, more money for 3rd party figures.

TFCC loves Soundwave. It really wouldn't surprise me if he is the repaint for Machine Wars Soundwave, even if he really doesn't look anything like MW Soundwave.

I don't see anything wrong with this one, but I want to see the others. I hope they do Prime, Megatron and Starscream. Out of which molds, I don't know.

Y'all confuse me. 'Con exclusives should be sets and themes that are aimed at fans who want certain items in their collection but that simply don't warrant mass retail release.

This Hoist figure doesn't appeal to me as an exclusive but would be even less appealing if it was released at retail taking up a spot that a more deserving figure should of had. I'm sure there's plenty of fans who have a machine wars itch to scratch making this set worthwhile.

I wouldn't want them releasing a set with Classics Reflector, Hoist, Tailgate, Sandstorm, Soundwave, etc.

Last year's set was a perfect example. I love action masters, not everyone does. So I payed top dollar to get my Kick-off. Others probably went out of their way to get their classics Road rage, etc.

That would surprise me, as that figure isn't Soundwave-y enough (not that the Bayformers or Prime modes are).

What I meant is they might do a different body mold for Soundwave; and use this head repaint.

Like if this head can fit on Cybertron defence Red Alert, then it would look like a Machine Wars Soundwave.

They already used the CD Red Alert mold for Megatron in 2006, I doubt they will use that mold again.
