I wouldn't worry much, the average kid has absolutely no clue of what's supposed to be released, they just take what's on the pegs/shelves.

What makes the OP's auction worse than that is that the Grimlock was actually purchased by somebody at that price! Now, come back when this jerk manages to sell his for the $200
Now.. if anybody does buy it for that price... see my previous post >_<

Re: So this is why people are buying lots of Masterpiece Grimlocks
This just came out like what 2 days ago?
There's going to be lots of these around, just like there ended up being lots of oppurtunity to get Arcee on the pegs.
One just has from refrain from the I have to have it now! syndrome.
Kep in mind that if a Scalper didn't get it another collector probably would have still beat you to it by the time you got there.
In Winnipeg I believe the collectors actually cornered the market on them when they hit. I suspect it was Collectors 12, Scalper 0, here.

Re: So this is why people are buying lots of Masterpiece Grimlocks
This auction listing is awesome! I was totally unaware that there was a Cybertron, USA. I'll have to visit there some time.
Also, did this auction end with buy it now, or was it a bidding war? I can't seem to see a bid history, but I think that they used to say when an auction ended with bin.

Yes people are dumb.
Some times they even revive old threads to bring up a point even when mods have made it clear they are tired of seeing threads about ebay scalpers...
I get what you're saying man, I really do - but it's best to just chuckle to yourself and move on...

Re: So this is why people are buying lots of Masterpiece Grimlocks
Nice to see this thread brought up again. Looking at Robimus' comment, I have to say I agree. Everyone rushed to get one and now there were a couple sitting at Regent and Polo a couple of weeks ago, which didn't sell too fast. We did kind of corner the market here in Winnipeg. I remember driving to regent for five days, talking to employees about shipping trucks, until they figured out when the truck was coming and said they'd hold one for me when they got in. I was still a bit paranoid, and ended up sitting at tru for an hour or so waiting for the truck to be unloaded! I took the first one out of the box with my own two hands.

Yeah thats often the end result I fear, wasted time.
We had the same deal with the Animated Arcees and the Animated Hot Rods. Big push at the start, but a couple weeks in they became plentiful.
If the enjoyment is in the chase then by all means go for it. I'll hit both TRU's in Winnipeg some times if I'm eager, but for the most part the wait and see approach has worked out fine.
