Re: Takara Tomy Fortress Maximus shipping debacle with Nippon-Yasan

Looks like NY is still the cheapest option factoring shipping from japanese vendor. Their boat option is cheap at 4550 yen, does it really take 3 months+ to arrive?

Re: Takara Tomy Fortress Maximus shipping debacle with Nippon-Yasan

I finally received an explanation after they started to ignore my original ticket and I had to send another one in. They gave me a choice to either give me a full refund or pay the extra shipping.

They told me it's gonna be shipped individually and not packaged in one box cause of the size. Was told no matter what the shipping calculator says it's gonna be charged per unit so it doesn't matter if you order 1 or 5.

4450 yen per unit by boat.

Guess I don't have a choice cause even if I end up paying duty and taxes it will be cheaper than local.

Live and learn. Don't buy anything from NY unless your desperate or needing exclusive.

I'm surprised that they offered full refund which is not something they normally do, but i guess with such a big difference in shipping, they didn't want to deal with paypal dispute hassle either

Re: Takara Tomy Fortress Maximus shipping debacle with Nippon-Yasan

Shopping from NY has always felt very sleazy and weird. And they search engine is the worrrrrrrrrrrst!

They made me pay for extra shipping after the fact awhile ago for a non TF toy, and after that, no more. The usual AA/HLJ/HS are my stand places I go, and AE replaces NY even more than before.

Anyone know if shipping by boat from Nippon-Yasan really takes 3 months?

Na, my UW01 Superion took 60 days. MP29 was 64 days. UW07 Bruticus still en-route.

I usually select boat shipping for big boxed items. I can wait.

You guys have me worried now. I preordered Inferno and Grapple through NY this time because it looked like the (slightly) cheaper option. I hope not to get dinged with extra shipping costs.
