Fansproject Bruticus Headswell

Okay, I'll admit this might be heresy...

You know, sometimes you notice a flaw, and you just can't take your eyes off it. It's not THAT important, not that big, but once you see it you can't get it out of your mind???

Like Megan Fox's little thumbnail, y'know?

Okay, the Fansproject Bruticus is epic...like one of my most prized posessions epic, but the head is, well small.

Okay, maybe not as bad as this guy...

But still noticable. I know, I know, they did this so the thing can still transform with the head attached.

One day I popped off the existing head, took my G1 Bruticus head and placed it on top to check out the proportions. I actually liked it, so I went about making something actually mechanically connect.

I made a little ball joint and pin and added some paint and bigger antennae.

Here's the original FP head, an original Bruticus head and my new head for comparison.

And here's the result on the figure. I can still use the old head, but the new one is really growing on me. I simply can't leave the old head on for long. Now I still have to remove it for transformation, but 95% of the time this guy is in gestalt mode so cool beans...

My wife actually thought the new head was the one that came with the figure, and that the original head was a 'joke'. Again, I'm not THAT offended by it...

What do you guys think?

Re: Fansproject Bruticus Headswell

I like what you did, it does look good. I personally like the original head, but think the neck looks to small for him. I know it's made like that so the head can swivel and look in every direction.

Re: Fansproject Bruticus Headswell

I didn't think his head was too small...but I do like the bigger head better.

Good idea.

Re: Fansproject Bruticus Headswell

very interesting head mod i like it

my solution to the small head problem was to use a junkion blacksmith nemesis prime head figure a zoids z blox rubber o-ring and a lego technic pegged ball joint to build a new head and neck for the bruticus combiner form

for the head figure nemesis prime i took the little guy apart and filed down the connector tabs on each side of his head and then filed down the sides of nemesis primes neck and spineal column so that the head can still slide down into his body for vehicel mode but can also slide all the way out of the body as well

i then drilled a hole into the top center of onslaughts body in that inset space that onslaughts head and neck folds dow into for robot mode with nemesis primeshead neck and spinal columb sliding down into place inside of onslaughts body when nemesis primes body forms bruticus's head for the combiner form
basicly in story wise nemesis primes entire head neck and spinal colum serves as the interface port between onslaughts core body and nemesis primes body when nemesis primes body forms bruticus's head in combiner mode

in story wise nemesis prime and onslaught share oint control over the fully combined bruticus combiner form

as for the lego technic pegged ball joint and the zoids z blox rubber plug o-ring

i shave the tube part off the technic ball joint epoxy glued int into place on top of the neck mount the original fansproject bruticus head and neck plugged into and use the rubber zoids blox o ring to connect nemesis primes body in head mode to the technick ball jointed neck

the rubber o-ring can easily slide in and out of the nemes prime body's nech spinal column port and the rubber o-ring can still slide on and off of the technick ball joint

this way the nemesis prime body in head mode can still have a full range of movement as bruticus's head in combiner mode

Re: Fansproject Bruticus Headswell

by the way i also had to salvage the horns form bruticus maximus combiner head glued them together side by side and glued them to the fansproject bruticus's heads ball jointed neck

the entire mohawk blade peice can slide right into that open port in the bottom of the nemesis prime head figures body when it is in head mode this way bruticus still has his bladed e edged mohawk on his head in combiner mode

Re: Fansproject Bruticus Headswell

Because of this thread I'm thinking about tossing Runiations head on my bruticus when I get home tonight.

Thanks John, I'm very interested in your mod too. Can you post pics here? Would love to see it!

By Junkion Blacksmith Nemesis you mean the black "Not Optimus Prime", right?
