Absolutely. Obviously noone knows if TRU will be getting them at all (and that probably includes TRU not knowing themselves). If we were sure they were gonna get them, we wouldn't have bothered, as we knew the price was gonna be a bit high. However, we figured we better grab some while the chance was still at least there.
That being said, but on a similar topic, we'll often get in exclusive items eventually, as we do a lot of buy/sell/trade, and we're certainly always keen on getting exclusives, especially the more popular ones. Not gonna lie, these do wind up being often more than they would have been at retail, as shockingly, people who bring them in often know they're exclusives and demand more for them (whether we take them in is another story, some people think 'exclusive' automatically means expensive. See WalMart re: BW reissue Rattrap currently being clearanced of an example where, no, not really). If they're still on the shelves at whatever exclusive store, we'll often sit on them at the warehouse until they're gone at least, as people SHOULD go to the source stores for them while they're available. For example, I know we've accumulated a decent little pile of the Netflix figures that we've got to go through and get listed (before you ask, no Soundwaves). Heck, we buy collections all the time, and have stuff back well, all the way to G1 (not a whole lot on the website for that one), but decent stock back to say Unicron Trilogy. All a matter of what people bring us.
Same thing applies across basically all toy lines. Heck, we bought a nice GI Joe Classified collection this week that had a Supreme Snake, Masters of Disguise Zartan, and as a bonus, an Agent Ravage.
Lastly, as we've all seen, there are times that exclusives get a more general release. We've seen that happen in the TF world with Gen Selects Red Wing, the Earthrise Seeker 2 pack and Siege Rainmaker Sets. Just a couple weeks ago, we saw it happen with some of the GI Joe Classified Cobra Island figs. I always tell people not to COUNT on that happening, but it does happen.
