Great, now it sucks to sell AND buy on ebay.
I can't believe another site hasn't been able to make a dent yet...

This doesn't break ebay's TOS agreement?
If it doesn't then next time I will probably do that, but if it does I don't really want to risk either my account or the sellers because of this stupid money grab.

Re: Ebay charges import fees now? Lame for Transformers collecting
it doesn't violate the agreement the seller has the choise it was set up as a fast track for international shipping like going through a broker the problem arises with the fact that they charge for every little step from packaging to putting the shipping labels on, and there customs charge is where it gets stupid not to mention charges like "to fill out paperwork" come on really....if Ebay feels it needs to get its money that way then theres already a problem and remember they own Kijiji so see it there soon

It does suck to buy on Ebay now that:
-On Jan.27 USPS increased their price sharply
-Some sellers now have this import fee crap
-no more Ebay bucks for Canadian
We have always been spending more than the Americans in buying Transformers....
It also sucks to sell on Ebay that their fees are so high and shipping by Canadapost is so expensive that no international bidders would wanna bid.

Re: Ebay charges import fees now? Lame for Transformers collecting
I've noticed this on several auctions:
Shipping:_______$xx.xx (approx. C $xx.xx)
_______________Item location: city, state, United States
_______________Ships to: Worldwide
Import charges: To be provided at checkout (?)
But many don't have it. Guess we can still buy from those sellers without having to worry about this.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.
Yes. If you see " Import charges: To be provided at checkout (?)" move on to the next seller that does not have that in their listing. I believe the amount is calculated based on the final price. So we won't know how much of a wallop until we actually win the auction/BIN.
Examples:
This seller has it.
This seller has it.
This seller does not.
This seller does not.
It's just another thing we all have to look out for when looking at auctions.

Yeah, I started noticing that and it is absolute BS. You just know the fee itself is set up so Ebay also gets a cut of it. Terrible. Just avoid at all costs, or contact the seller first to work something out before you bid. If I'm going to be charged import fees, I want Canada Customs doing that. Not Ebay. There was one I was look at doing BIN for, but I noticed the set import fees and the fee was essentially nearly 30% of the BIN price. Ridiculous.
