It doesn't....at all. BUT, everyone thinks for some reason that every single P/CP was misassembled and needs a "fix" that apparently helps line the front parts up for car mode. BUT, if you take care, it lines up anyway. Only effect I can see is limiting the outward movement of the shoulder. Still, all that said, I absolutely believe that many, many people have possibly legitimately encountered tolerance variances that might make doing the "fix" a prudent move but I would call it more of a mod than a fix due to assembly error, since the figure never was misassembled to begin with as far as I can tell. I doubt we will ever see the flat side up because I-I...don't think it's supposed to be, to be honest.

The fix makes a difference for my version for sure.
After the fix, when I move it, I can feel it's secured with a "click" feeling.
