Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF
After buying lots of TF off ebay wit the exception to junker. I proabably only going to buy brand new TF and preown on the exception if it was own by a TF collector. Most people these days can't take care of there toys and you don't know where they been.

Re: Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF
I imagine it's difficult and expensive to find original G1 figures new...
For me, its an issue of condition, cost, and desire. If its a figure I really want, and want to play with, I don't mind getting a used version, especially if its in good condition and the alternatives are significantly more expensive.

Re: Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF
I don't mind junkers. For me part of the collecting is remembering the cool toys from years past. So if it's a junker from some yard sale, so be it. And as Aernaroth mentions, new G1 are hard to come by.
I usually by new with new stuff though. I guess just because it's on the shelf. But if you wait, and can find one that's already open for cheaper, then even better.
Unless you want MISB, then that's different. For the most part, I open everything anyway.

MISB or loose/complete. No time/money to waste on incomplete toys/junkers.

I usually only buy MISB stuff @ retail. However I will buy loose complete figures if they are no longer available at retail or they are an awesome price.

Typically only misb, but parts of my Beast Wars collection were purchase loose, but complete.
To my a transformer without all the parts is like a Sunny Patio without a beer...

Re: Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF
for myself, any which way is good.new, old, used, misb,it doesnt matter.the only thing is if it is used, the bot/bots will end up getting a scrub down with sunlight dishsoap and a tooth brush.i do actually prefer loose/junkers cause in a way, every scratch/ding or paint scrape just adds character.what i dont like is transforming a used bot and finding out the previous owner thought that the little diaclone seats were a good spot to hide their booger/used gum collection(insert sad face puking )the other positive with used bot's (g1 specifically)is you can usually easily tell if it's a reissue that the guy is trying to charge you vintage prices for.if the bot's condition is too good to be true,it probably is.(unless it's from another collector who also takes meticulous care of their army too )
