What were they thinking?

This is not a "HasbRoW SUXXORSS!!1!!" discussion; but a genuine wondering why Hasbro makes certain choices.

Like my current one: I was just looking at all my Kreon's and while looking at the 1st AOE wave Skrapnel figure I couldn't help but wonder why they chose to give it that weird deco rather than just make him the G1 version? They already gave us Kickback and Bombshell, so why not just follow suit with Skrapnel? Because now it seems unlikely that we'll actually get a third Insecticon to complete the trio, considering that it'll pretty much be the exact same figure in a different deco.

Is it me?

Also, today I gave my son the new Roar to the Rescue Raptor Bumblebee, and while it feels much more solid than the Rescan motorcycle one, it's kind of a pain it the ass to transform.
The transformation itself is simple enough, you just fold the dino mode in half. The difficulty comes in because you have press the two halves together pretty hard to get them to click in position and separate the legs; requiring a little more force than my 3 year old can muster.
Then once he's in robot mode, to stand him he just balances on the separated front halves of the dino mouth and the back of the tail, like a tripod, but not a very steady tripod.
He loves it, but he gets frustrated by it easily and has to ask me to "fix it".

Anyone else have any general wonderings like this?

...weird deco on Skrapnel? He looks pretty G1esque to me.

Re: What were they thinking?

Hasbro still has to top this thing.

Bent over alt mode... on all fours.

Probably for the same reason they made Highbrow a Decepticon!

Don't forget Kreo Seaspray is a Decepticon too, foreshadowing maybe?

Re: What were they thinking?

What I want to know is why they gave ALL THE DINOBOTS those bloody barbell hands! I know they don't have the parts budget for wrist swivel and all that simplified toy guff... but why mold the fist in that orientation?! They can't even use their weapons correctly!

Even the voyagers! Grimlock at least can undo his transformation to get the swivel, but it shouldn't lock in that position in the first place! It's just a hole for a tab to peg in and you manage to place it wrong!
