lol now you know how I felt when I thought about Jetstorm.

Re: TFcon 2013 Charity Project (Group B): Enter the Vehicons!

Right, I think I have a plan for Strika's head and some other odds and ends. I was going to start work on her sooner but got hit pretty hard with a bug that's going around. Pretty much over that now, so I'll have to check my paints, plan some steps out, roll up my sleeves and get started on this thing.

So what do you guys think: Should I go with Strika's show colours (purple and orange) or her toy colours (blue, white and yellow)? I've seen a lot of comments about how the show colours the Botcon toy used makes her look like Impacter.

Re: TFcon 2013 Charity Project (Group B): Enter the Vehicons!

Seeing how were doinig a little head now heres mine.

OK not the same as Gen Tekno's just the sculpt for thrust, could not use the BM thrust head as it completly SUCKS (worst head sculpt by hasbro ever). Started with sideswipes head as a base model, a few cuts here and there a bit of styrene bits, some vents and putty and tadah a deluxe thrust head

A few shots halfway through

Completed ready to prime

Re: TFcon 2013 Charity Project (Group B): Enter the Vehicons!

Well as promised once the head sculpt was finished, I said I would post some shots of THRUST in robot mode.

Here are some low res leaked shots from the design desk

Taken with my small camera to keep quality low.

These will be the last shot of him until painted, so to quote a famous Vehicon lets put it in

"OVERDRIVE"

Re: TFcon 2013 Charity Project (Group B): Enter the Vehicons!

HOLY CRAP. That head is AMAZING.

And yeah, Otis - that's just the head that comes with Hardbone that I painted up like Tankor/Rhinox.

I need to grab a few more paints this week to get more work done - the greys I got are far too close too each other to do proper contrast, and I need a dark grey for most of the body. Rewatching episodes I was surprised at just how LITTLE blue Tankor actually has in altmode (which works out well with Hardbone's transformation scheme)

Also, he should still be capable of a translucent cockpit window - the clear red I got looks pretty good on the clear plastic the figure has. (The eyes were a test run; I've since done them with solid paint for other reasons, but it means that I'll have smooth sailing on having a visible driver.)

Re: TFcon 2013 Charity Project (Group B): Enter the Vehicons!

That Thrust is just AMAZING! Seriously, bud, that head is a piece of art.

Got me a Strika head via RosimusPrime1 (thanks again, bud) and just need to pick up some paints and I'll be going to town on Strika.

One problem, though... I've totally fallen in love with the BM Strika mold. Now I'll have to hunt down a second one for myself later.
