I think Hasbro said in the past they wouldn't be importing ML Soundwave without electronics.

I think they also said if they did release him in Universe 3.0 he WOULDN'T be a cassette player.

Even the way the grill flips out for his feet: the design feature performs a different function on Animated Soundwave, but it's similar.

As for ML, I got him and the headphones for $80 last earlier this year, so I'm not crying so much. But man, kudos to those who scored it for such a good price!
