The moment I picked up the box I knew something was wrong - it was way too light.

Re: Here is the siege on cybertron i received from Amazon.ca...
That's inexcusable....with Amazon apparently taking over a large part of the retail market in Canada it seems as if there will be many issues like these down the road...the worst part is the bad customer service in the end, english sounding name or not...
A good habit is to always use Visa, they have a resolutions department that if you order online and the item is not received or not what you ordered, you can have them take control of the funds you lost if the retailer is being curt or unfair with you.
Good luck!

Fuck. I was planning to order a set when I can actually afford it since it's still in stock, now I'm worried about asshole scammers ripping off decent folks with scummy re-pack issues.

I just found 4 of the sets in store in Toronto, for 149 and change at Walmart. Go check your Walmarts to see if you can pick them up instead.

Why did they even bother to put figures at that point?

The person wrote they wanted it for a good deal, hence why they bought the amazon warehouse deal rather than buying it new at a retail store.
And thats another point, I know this sucks, but its the chance you take when dealing with amazon warehouse.

This. I saw a couple at my local TRU last time I was out. (Try to) Get a refund and try your luck and brick and mortar would be my advice.

Probably so that box weighed close(r) to the weight it should have, if it was empty anyone who handled it would notice

I don't recall this type of scams back in the day, and we had Consumers (remember that place, you could return a burned out NES and they wouldn't give a damn).
It seems really prolific with action figures for some reason too.

It's the price we pay when the toy and hobby industry turns into popular mainstream investment opportunities for scummy scalpers and the like.
These return douches don't even do it to re-sell something at three times mark up value, they do it to score FREE shit they don't want to pay for to own, so they rip off the store and then give every legitimate collector who PAYS for their shit and keeps the stuff a bad name.
Store charges me too much for this shit, I'mm gonna show them, that's the mentality of these jackasses half the time, either that or mommy needs her drug fix so she takes the expensive set without the actual toys in it to get 150$ back to use for some of the good stuff.
It is a crime, and it has been getting out of hand for FAR TOO LONG because retailers do not enforce decent store policies for returns anymore. I guarantee if you tried to bilk the store for merchandise back in the 1950s or something they wouldn't accept this kind of falderal banal crap. And if they did... well the system needs a restructuring because the Customer may always be right, when it comes to slogans, but in reality they are nowhere near always right and full of entitled bullshit excuses just to save a buck or two.
