Re: Platinum Series Ultra Magnus Released at Canadian Retail
Almost 80 bucks with tax for a Weaponizer repaint? I saw this yesterday at TRU and it was an easy pass, paint looked sparse and he just didn't look that great... I will save my money for Metroplex and Soundwave.
I have the Voyager (BH) already, and that's better looking IMO. If Platinum gets clearanced for 30-35 I will get it...

Re: Platinum Series Ultra Magnus Released at Canadian Retail
I like it and since I don't even have any of its "mold brothers" I will pick it up. Just hope the price drops a bit before I'm overwhelmed and grab it regardless of price.
Of course, I would rather see Omega Supreme but luckily I grabbed one over in Taiwan.

Re: Platinum Series Ultra Magnus Released at Canadian Retail
How is this $80 after taxes? The weaponizer mold is valued at around $35. The hammer accessory must be made out gold or something. I liked the original weaponizer Prime so I wouldn't mind picking this up but not at this price.

Yeah, in Ontario it's 13% sales tax so it works out to $79.09. But hell, extra costs to cover packaging? Is there a secret message embedded in the artwork that'll lead me to buried treasure? Maybe there's some hidden numbers that'll help me win the lottery.

It's called buying a brand. You stick PLATINUM on there, put in some fancy packaging and rank up the price. They assume people will buy it because it sounds super expensive and collectable.

Re: Platinum Series Ultra Magnus Released at Canadian Retail
What I'd really like to see are some good comparisons between this and the BH voyager. Granted, they probably exist, so I guess what I'm saying is that I'm gonna seek them out & figure out which one (if any) really grabs me before saying yes or no, even in my head... at which time I'll get the one I like on sale.

Not worth it for the original price for some mods and a hammer
