Scratch Build Question???

So I have been trying out working with Styrene the past month and I think I have the hang of it now. I think I'm ready to go ahead and build a bot from scratch. Not sure if it will be able to transform into it's alt mode but I'll give it a try.

Now the question I have is if I build a G1 Jetfire using styrene would it be considered a Scratch Build if I'm using the Real G1 Jetfire as a template piece by piece??? The only thing that may be from the original G1 Jetfire are : landing gear, springs, cockpit canopy, shoulder hinge????

As you can see for the wing part on the left, I traced it on styrene and then cut it out, drilled the hole and sanded down the edges.

Re: Scratch Build Question???

You are still making pretty much all the parts from materials that start out nothing like the finished product so I would class it in the scratchbuild catagory! (looks sweet too by the way!)

Re: Scratch Build Question???

exactly what h/p said,it's totally a scratch build.
if you were to just slap some new colors on something, then it'd just be a repaint.
but being as you're completely fabricating the parts yourself.....
