Energon Shockblast = Classics Shockwave?

The release of the FP-Protector armour in December will mark the end of my Transformers collecting. But before that happens I've been looking to round out my C.H.U.G. collection:
  • Conehead seekers? Awaiting the release of Generations Dirge
  • Classics Cliffjumper with FP add-on kit? Check.
  • Classics Jazz? Do I bite the bullet and find a reasonable priced Shattered Glass version or wait till Hasbro gets around to it?
  • Classics Grimlock? Do I pick him up even though I know I hate him already?
  • Classics Wheeljack? Hello eBay???
I also realize there has been a certain je ne sai quoi missing from my Decepticon ranks. Namely Shockwave.

So here's my question. Will Energon Shockblast fit into my C.H.U.G. collection? Funky colours aside, he looks to be right size, if not a bit taller than Henkei/Classics Megatron, but his alt modes (space tank, satellite thingamajiggy) look kind of 'meh'.

My hope would be to pick up E-Shockblast up and customize him onto a full blown, all purple Shockwave like the custom jobs you can find pictures of on-line (yeah right...2 kids and a 9 to 5 job? Good luck!)

Speaking of funky colours, does Shockblast kind of match Classics Megatron? Anyone own this guy that can shed some light on his worth?

Funny you should ask... I'm currently working on one myself! Now size wise, it is about an inch or 2 taller then the average classic figure... depending on how much modding you'll be doing.

what about Dirge?

No, unless you really love the Cybertron Crosswise mold, and feel it's morally appropriate for Jazz.
  • Classics Grimlock? Do I pick him up even though I know I hate him already?
No. I'm sorry, but I too was not a fan of the mold, and especially the cheap plastic. Matrix, it really had the look of bad quality dollar store toy plastic.
  • Classics Wheeljack? Hello eBay???
Er... there is no Classics Wheeljack, unless you count some of the amazing customs from the Sunstreaker mold.

I also realize there has been a certain je ne sai quoi missing from my Decepticon ranks. Namely Shockwave.

As for Shockwave, I also find the Energon Shockblast alt modes to be terrible. I don't think painting him would be good enough for a classics status.

Re: Energon Shockblast = Classics Shockwave?

Hasbro is doing a Generations Jazz for this spring I think. They also said that there is a "Kup" coming out sometime but did not say which line . If you are looking for a "Wheeljack" try energon Downshift, he looks just like wheeljack. Classics Grimlock is horrible, get the MP Grimlock, he is scale accurate with the classics line, if you go by the scale set up in the first season of G1 that is. Dirge is out in this fall I believe, so its not much of a wait...hopefully hasbro releases a Thundercracker for the seekers.

Woops, yes I meant Dirge...then I can close the book on my CHUG Seeker fetish.

And yes...I was referring to the Sunstreaker mods when I said Classics Wheeljack.

Thanks for your insight...erasing that Shockblast Craigslist posting from my "Favourites" as we speak.

Darth...I'll have to keep checking up on your progress!

A question: why will it end your TF collecting?

I'm fairly sure we'll see a generations shockwave in 2011
He's going to gain a lot of casual popularity because he .....
Also expect a wheeljack, as a repaint

Sorry guys I tried to add [spoiler] tags, then I tried [bg] tags, then I tried [bgcolor] tags, and then I tried to do it with HTML code, there's nothing

This ancient software needs an upgrade in a bad way

I remember lusting over both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime from the other side of a toy store window in 1986 after having just watched the animated movie. My father was in the hospital and times were tough so I'd wouldn't be receiving anymore toys as gifts for a long time.I never did get around to collecting either toy, even aftr I got back into collecting in 2006.

Now 24 years later I have the ability to own both toys in one. What better way to cap off my collection with what was once unattainable?

Richter, don't spoil the movie for me; or anybody else for that matter.

Matrix, I fear Michael Bay will already spoil it enough!
