Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion
Well that's exactly what happened to me. Initially I couldn't place an order as one item wasn't available to ship to my address. The next day I somehow managed to place the order, but of the two items one came through and the other got cancelled for not being in their warehouses (but plenty in stores...)

Waiting for that Buzzworthy Optimus to go up.
Does TRU even do preorders anymore? Been a minute since I've actually done one through them.

Are you talking about Studio Series 44 Prime?

He?s talking about BW Studio Series 102 Prime.
I can?t remember the last time I preordered something from TRU. If it?s like other recent BW releases, it?ll show up in-store before being available on their website.

Ah, makes sense. No, I don't think they do preorders anymore. Stupid of Hasbro to throw this into the Buzzworthy line. Extremely sought after and popular character and they choose to make it an exclusive. This is going to be a pain in the ass to find.

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion
I dont understand how ToysRUs doesn't manage pre-order items at all, especially in the e-commerce world we live in. Considering Canada has very few options for toys compared to the States, it boggles my mind. Why would I bother with TRU when I can preorder from EB Games AND use me 10% discount?!
I dont want TRU to disappear, we have few options already, but at this point it feels like it wouldnt matter anyway.

Last thing I preordered from Toysrus was MPM-12 Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime. After that, TRU was like "F*** it" and stopped their preorder system. I know what you mean. In 2023, they should be taking preorders for items. At this point they're pretty much a specialty store because they're carrying items that no other store in Canada are carrying (like this new Buzzworthy SS102 Optimus Prime).

It's a whole bunch of extra costs that they'd like to avoid at the moment. It seems they see their angle over EB and Walmart as simply being a big store where parents can be sure to find a toy, and are capitalizing on the brick and mortar market as a distinctive strategy from other stores (which is the tactic TRU always had).
And they are treating exclusives the old school way as simply being a product only they have and you have to go check if they have it, forcing you into the store.

Want to get people to order exclusives and get them into the stores? Offer the option of "free pickup in store". Works for me.

Yeah, the fact that isn't even an option is kinda lame.
