A third fire began around 8 a.m. at the Babies ‘R’ Us store in the 1100-block West Broadway, also the site of the landmark Bowmac sign.
“There was a lot of smoke at the site . . . The fire crews initiated a fire attack and put it out very quickly,” said Foster.
A substantial amount of smoke and water has damaged the store.
An electrical malfunction in a light fixture has been determined to be the cause, according to the fire investigator.
