a few questions about selling

hey everyone

I have recently thought of selling a bit of my collection. I don't have a lot of experience with eBay - if I did use it, a friend would do it for me. What's the best way to maximize sales? Big lots/individual pieces? Or is selling toys a fairly random thing? I have sold in the past but I'm always wondering if I got the maximum sale I could have out of it.

Re: a few questions about selling

You'll probably make more selling individually, but the toys would likely sell faster if they were in lots.

Also, try posting the list here first. We're a legit bunch.

Re: a few questions about selling

Selling toys individually will maximize the money you can make.

If you prefer to sell toys in groups.. the best thing to do is group some good pieces with the less popular ones so that they will move.

Always be careful about buyers asking you to ship first or if they pay half up front then pay the other half after you ship.. ALWAYS get the full amount from the buyer before you ship anywhere.

when you do ship.. always do the insurance, tracking and anything else to cover your ass... you never know if a buyer will get the items then file a dispute to get the money back, screwing you over the process.

I hate to be negative about this whole buying/selling but do what you can to cover your ass

And this! You always have to look out for yourself first.

Re: a few questions about selling

I would sell here first. The few guys I have dealt with here are AWESOME and it beats Ebay. Plus like said before you run the risk on Ebay with D-bag buyers. The guys here are more than willing to pay fair price for something.

Re: a few questions about selling

You might SELL for a bit more on ebay BUT after the fees and the hassle you'll probably end up making just as much by posting your lists here.
I've sold numerous TFs (several in the last 2 weeks) and I've always had success selling them through Cybertron (or that other site)

Thanks for all the tips, everyone! I'll get a list going ASAP and post it here. It'll be tough deciding what goes and what stays...

Re: a few questions about selling

i sold my g1 collection this year, and helped a friend with his a/e/c collection. depending on how fast you want to sell them, i would say here for around a week or so, then off to ebay, ebay they sell faster usually, especially G1s. but always give the site first dibs, saves the ebay fees, and canadian collectors get that bot they have been looking for for a while.

Re: a few questions about selling

Selling toys individually gets the most $$$ ... if you sell on ebay, there are ebay fees...so the best as everyone said, sell your stuff here for a week and then for the leftovers, you can post them on eBay
