Re: Had to do the unthinkable! :(

Dude!

Is there anything you don't collect?!?

Like the others have said, I really hope you didn't flatten those G1 Boxes.

Value wise, I wouldn't worry much, for the easily available 90's and 00's stuff, people either want loose or MISB, and sometimes people are willing to pay more if it's loose.

Cheers!

Re: Had to do the unthinkable! :(

Considering I only clip and save the Tech Spec Bios from all of the recent stuff and only have the boxes for my G1 Re-Issues plus anything in my collection from Japan, I really can't feel inclined to share your pain my friend.

Long ago I discovered that keeping an exorbitant amount of empty boxes served no purpose. So I either chucked them or started at them with the scissors.

You may think me mad, but since I'm not MISB or MIB Class +12 or whatever it really doesn't bother me too much. I mean it could be worse, you could have purged your actual collection of figures. Like I have done quite often in the past ten years or so... used to have way more plastic junk that served no viable purpose in the long run.

Have you tried donating them to other fans? At least then you can know they have a good use and appreciation; makes you breathe easier.

Re: Had to do the unthinkable! :(

to the purest as soon as the tape is cut the price drops out of the bottom, with the exception of a few boxes (offshore product, usally G1 ) ....I had the same issue but relised it wasn't about the money,.. because I really don't sell my collected pieces so with the exception of a few boxes keep intact (Keeps the dust off) I did the unthinkable and cut the artwork out and kept that,... took some pics (this before digital was around) and continued to put my loose toys on the shelf to enjoy. the pain will pass and you will have far more enjoyment with them loose,.. the way toys are ment to be ......Played with.Justprime

I'm really not in it for the money but I love that wave of nostalgia from flipping the box around and admiring the artwork but I just can't bring myself to chop them up!

Re: Had to do the unthinkable! :(

animated leader box, and v-class box are good to go (throw away). download the better picture and print on page if you want a visible/intangible things to keep.
I don't like the design of universe box, but Ultra class is already rare and might be good to keep.
