Quick question about returning stuff to walmart

I recently read the big return policy sign at the customer service desk of my local walmart and it doesn't say anything about returns with no receipt. I was going to ask one of the custserv associates this very question but the lineup was so long I skipped it. sorry.

Unless the policy has changed, you 'can' return without a receipt. If you do it though, you will only get store credit and not cash or whatever you paid with back.

Over here, the receipt item name means very little. They want a bar code # to match with the item. In the past (during the Energon line) a lot of items had odd names on the bill, I remember a Energon Prowl that punched up "Bowling Pins". No doubt cause similar items in price point share the same code in Walmart's computer......... ANYHOW! All that matters is the bar codes match. Also with Walmart........sometimes you don't even need a receipt.

Fixed for accuracy! All that matters is that the item scans, and is still registered in there computer systems.

If you want cash or have the refund deposit back to your credit card you need a receipt, otherwise you will get store credit on a gift card

They should ask you for ID too, IIRC. This prevents fraud.
