Real for sure. In the box, and sent directly to them from Hasbro.
I've gotten lots of stuff from this same place for myself, including my own Wreck-Gar, and all is for reals. (I got Universe Inferno, Animated Shockwave-grey, Universe Ratchet, Masterpiece Starscream, Classics Superion, and Alternators Rodimus ---- all for real)
I lived in Beijing before as well, and got tricked with the WST Dinobots (a fake of an unofficial release!!!), and almost bought an Energon Omega Sentinal fake. I had to carry my laptop to these places and compare pics! That's how I caught the Omega Sentinal slight color variation (and not enough twist ties!). That was a few years ago when I was just getting started with the addiction.
In Taiwan this is not the case. The toys here are distributed from Hasbro Hong Kong to their branch location here in Taiwan.
Because of my Beijing experiences (and learned paranoia), I always ask the shop about where they get there toys from. They have no problems to tell me the info and give me an address and phone number for both Hong Kong and Taiwan Hasbro locations.
Your caution is certainly warranted. But Taiwan and Mainland China are worlds apart in this regard. Still, I do what I can to be sure it's not possible that this is what's happening.
