I have a question

If I want to protect the paint on a transformer like g1 jetfire

Can I use a clear coat buy tamiya
Or maybe a uv clear coat
Or a metal clear coat
So that the paint dose not turn yellow

And would it work fore the new jetfire as well

Thanks

Re: I have a question

It depends what you want to protect the figure from. If you are trying to protect it from UV discolouration (e.g. yellowing), you can try this UV protection spray from Michaels:

https://canada.michaels.com/en/krylo.../10173870.html

For me, I installed a UV protection film on the glass case where I'm displaying the figures.

Somebody on the board installed the UV protection film on the windows in his display room.

It's a toy let it age with dignity.
Not chemicals.
Piece.

Re: I have a question

Mine was rarely out of it's box in a dark and cool environment and it didn't help... I doubt anything would have protected it as it's not just light, but I believe also a reaction with oxygen.

Re: I have a question

I think the UV light accelerates the degradation. I was once sent a UW Computron that was completely yellowed. Found out that the 3 year old figure was roasting in front of a window the entire time.
