I've been seriously thinking of getting the R2/R5 and 3P0 Bandai kits. I have Revoltech R2 which is a much better scale for 6" line but I like all the accessories that come with the Bandai set. But I will have to paint them which is not my forte but it's such a tiny amount of paint needed, might be a good first customization project to attempt. I assume the Tamiya paints are the way to go?

The pics do look pretty nice. I'm sure they are. I've bought a lot of Gunpla back in the day and again recently, but I'm just too lazy to put them all together. It's fun, but too time consuming sometimes. While the crispness of detail is satisfying, the fragility is not sometimes. I'll keep it in mind though.

If you buy kits at a model shop, they will also sell Tamiya or Hobby colour paints as well. And yes, Tamiya's water based acrylic paint is pretty friendly for use beginners.

Dalong as review on Bandai's 1/12 Vader, Stormtrooper, R2-D2 & R5-D4, and C3PO

It's a Korean site but you can use google translate.

^WOW I think I'm convinced. Every one of these sculpts are better then Figuarts, Black Series and Revoltech and complement the 6" scale. I see there will be a Sandtrooper and Scout Trooper with speeder bike soon. Where are people buying these from? HLJ is out of the Stormtrooper.

Order from HLJ. They restock pretty fast if you place an other.

Of course if you have the fund you can always go with Hot Toys and Sideshows 1/6 figures.

Nope I don't, plus 1/6th is too big for my displays. I just ordered Bandai 1/12 Vader, Stormtrooper, C-3P0, R2/R5 and Sandtrooper. I hope that Scout Trooper preorder restocks soon
