This. Takara would have issued it long ago if they were in possession IMO. A robot that turns into a gun? That's awesome, no matter what decade you're in!

Maybe they found them?

Looking at those pictures just now, I can't help but think, "Hey! All those guys are in the Hall of Fame! 'Cept Shockwave...yet." Why doesn't Hasbro do this same thing as a Chronicles, but rename it the Transformers Hall of Fame line and release it over here?

True it's a picture of the actual cartoon G1 character, still, since the purpose of the Chronicles Sets is to release recent version of a character's toy with its G1 counterpart, seems unlikely that Takara would release a ''replacement'' for G1 Shockwave.

Unless they would produce an entirely new ''Classics/G1-style'' mold for Shocky?

Hmm.

Oh wow, I hope this is true. I'm glad I never caved for one of the KOs.

All the other pictures in that shot are carton style pictures, not the pictures of the actual figures, including the ones for Primes and Megatrons which have been released. So it is inconclusive to say it will not be released. I certainly do hope a Shockwaves set will be released in the near future.

Would it be weird to have DoTM Shockwave displayed with my Classics?
